Role:
The Sales Account Manager position is an experienced sales position focused on targeted sales efforts and customer relationship management. Individuals will be responsible for developing opportunities, setting sales strategy, competitive positioning and account plan execution in selling JMAR’s portfolio of laser based detection, warning, and identification products with market applications in defense, homeland security, hazardous materials detection and biological monitoring.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare a detailed annual sales plan, including monthly, quarterly and annual sales objectives, and then implement the objectives.
- Create and maintain a sales pipeline/forecast.
- Build strong customer relationships.
- Evaluate Channel Partner’s performance and make recommendations for new partners or the cancellation of existing partners.
- Travel with and make joint sales calls with Channel Partner’s sales personnel as required.
- Provide product training and continually evaluate the need for more formalized training.
- Establish and maintain superior product knowledge and be capable of explaining features and benefits with product demonstration as well as excellent oral presentation.
- Provide sales management, marketing management, customer service, and applications engineering support management for all sales accounts.
- Recommend, attend and/or display at local and major industry trade shows.
- Recommend new products and product enhancements based on customer needs.
- Estimate delivery schedules, prepare quotations, negotiate and close on direct sales opportunities.
- Submit scheduled written sales account activity reports and expense accounting as required.
- Promote a professional image of the company, its people and its products.
Minimum Requirements:
Five to ten years in a successful outside sales environment, with strong history of distribution management. Self-starter with the ability to travel 40-60%.
Experience in and knowledge of selling capital equipment to at least one of the following market domains: Defense Security and/or Municipal and Industrial Water applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, influence/interpersonal skills, customer orientation, team interaction/effectiveness and multi-tasking ability required.
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field - Engineering, Physics, Biology, or Chemistry preferred
Strong skills in Windows environment and MS Office applications required. |
