JMAR Technologies, Inc. is a late-stage technology company with
expertise in the development and early commercialization of
detection and laser-based technologies for nano-scale imaging,
chemical and biological analysis, and fabrication. The Company
is leveraging more than a decade of laser and photonics research
in developing a portfolio of products with market applications
in high interest areas such as homeland security, biological
monitoring of water quality, and hazardous materials detection.
These technologies represent significant intellectual property
which includes more than thirty issued or pending patents.
JMAR’s products and services evolve from one or more of its core competencies: high brightness solid state lasers; laser produced plasma generators for soft X-ray light; and multi-angle light scattering for particle classification.
Specific products with strong commercialization potential include:
BioSentry™ - a contamination warning system for waterborne microorganisms. BioSentry uses laser-based, multi-angle light scattering technology to provide continuous, on-line, real-time monitoring for harmful microorganisms in water delivery systems. BioSentry is targeted toward a number of applications notably homeland security, municipal water utilities, beverage and food processing and pharmaceuticals.
BriteLight™- a high-power, high-brightness laser system used as a stand-alone product as well as the x-ray light source in nanolithography and x-ray microscopy systems. The proprietary BriteLight technology is also the foundation for the DP-LIBS development.
Double-Pulse Laser – a double pulse plasma laser used to enable laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (DP-LIBS) developed with the Department of Defense for the detection of hazardous materials. Two compact designs are in development – a
handheld portable and a vehicle portable, each capable of detection at stand-off
distances of 30 meters against trace chemical elements. Additional applications
include drug screenings, environmental and forensic analysis.
