BriteLight Laser Master Oscillator
The master oscillator is carefully designed to generate a seed pulse that is well behaved both temporally
and spatially. Temporally the MO output has a smooth near Gaussian shape with a FWHM of 800 ps and a pulse-to-pulse time jitter of less than 10ps. Spatially, the output is TEM00 and close to diffraction limit with an M2 of less than 1.1. The energy output from the MO is in a standard BriteLight configuration 1 mJ/pulse and can be operated up to 1,000 Hz. The combination of a short, and temporally smooth pulse, high repetition rate, and excellent spatial mode is achieved by using a proprietary diode pumped geometry of the master oscillator, which ensures a close to perfect top hat profile of the gain profile, and by a cavity design which incorporates a Q-switch, an acousto-optical modulator and a cavity dumper. The use of a cavity dumper provides for an optional pre-pulse to be added as an option. BriteLight can also be configured to support a wide range of other pulse lengths.
